Fazeley’s Parish was held in the Town Hall tonight, prior to the Town Council’s monthly meeting, when the Town Mayor gave the annual report on Fazeley Town Council and answered questions from local residents.
Cllr Andrew James said, “The last year has been yet another busy one for Fazeley Town Council with the redecoration of the Heathcote Room, turning it back into a working office from a dirty damp store room, decorating and naming the store room the Jones Room and making the town hall DDA* compliant with the installation of a separate disabled toilet, the outside access ramp extended along with a brand new hand rail to make the ramp safe. We have also fitted a brand new the kitchen, with a fitted cooker and dishwasher.
“I was pleased to be able to attend the Fazeley Festival last summer at the Mile Oak recreation area, the Christmas fair and meal for the pensioners of Fazeley both held here (Fazeley Town Hall) and I have also had the honour of meeting some of the town’s previous Mayors and their relatives and present them with framed certificates marking their terms of office as Mayor of Fazeley.
“I would also like to pay tribute to Cllrs Jimmy Littlefield and Tony Brookes who have both announced they will be stepping down from the Town Council in May after 41 years and 37 years respectively.”
