Relatives of Fazeley’s First Parish Clerk Visit Town Hall

Fazeley Town Council held it’s monthly meeting tonight and had 3 special visitors; David Hankey, Ian Hankey and Trevor Harvey all great grandchildren of Mr James Malson – Fazeley’s schoolmaster and the first Clerk of Fazeley Parish from 1894 until his death in 1904.

David Hankey said, “For me, my brother, Ian, and my cousin, Trevor to view the first Minute Book of Fazeley Parish was a wonderful experience and to see his hand writing over the first few pages was really a very sobering moment.  His untimely death in Fazeley at the age of 52 would, we feel, have deprived the local community of quite a character.”

Fazeley’s Town Mayor added, “It was great to meet the grandchildren of Fazeley’s first Clerk and I am pleased they all enjoyed their visit.”
