Fazeley’s County Councillor is the Conservative Party Candidate for Staffordshire’s P.C.C. Election

Fazeley’s County Councillor Matthew Ellis has been named as the Conservative Party’s candidate for Staffordshire’s new Police and Crime Commissioner.

Cllr Ellis was chosen by the party membership of Staffordshire to stand in the P.C.C. election to be held in November 2012.

Cllr Ellis has been the County Councillor for the Lichfield Rural East division since 2005 and the County’s Cabinet Member for Cabinet Member for Adults Wellbeing since 2009.  Matthew was also on Lichfield District Council from 2003 until he stepped down in 2011 where he was a Cabinet member and Deputy Leader.

The new Police and Crime Commissioner will be able to hire and fire Chief Constables, hold them to account and set the force budgets and will be answerable to the residents of the county through four yearly elections.
