Fazeley’s New Mayor Keeps it in the Family

Fazeley Town Council’s new Mayor is Cllr Debbie James, following her husband Cllr Andrew James and Cllr Rebecca James who have both previously held the prestigious role of Town Mayor in Fazeley.

Debbie James was elected unanimously as Mayor at Monday’s meeting of the Town Council.

Following her election, Cllr James thanked the members and paid tribute to her predecessor, Cllr Simon Clements, who was not able to attend the meeting as he is currently recovering from major heart surgery.

Cllr James said, “It is an honour to be the Mayor of Fazeley and I hope that I will do the position proud during the coming year. I would like to thank Cllr Clements for his year in office and I wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the Council Chamber very soon.”

Mrs James was elected onto Fazeley Town Council in 2011 having been the Mayoress of Fazeley from 2009 to 2011.
